First Trip to the Zoo!

We had a blast at the zoo yesterday! Us and GiGi first went to McKinnley's to have breakfast which consisted of strawberry cake!! Yummmm!!! Then we headed off to the zoo. It was a perfect day to go. It was a little cloudy and not crowded at all. But it was very hot! I was so hot that I had upper lip sweat! Makk's cheeks were red the whole time although we were in shade, I put a hat and sunscreen on her. I also kept her very hydrated. I won't bore you with all the animal pics, but here are some of my favorites!

This is my most fave!! She kept herself busy fastening her buckels.

She did not like this!
Such a big girl coming down the steps. She is absolutely fascinated with steps!
She enjoyed watching the fish.
Her first carousel ride! She wasn't so sure about it. We had to first pet the horse and love on it.

Every time we would go around, she would say hi and wave to GiGi once we got to the other side!
Such a big girl standing at the window. I think these were monkeys.

And of course, walking down by herself...with a tad bit of help.

See how hot we look?! I do mean temp wise only!

I had to put a monkey pic in because they are Makk's fave! I loved this one where they are loving on each other!
Makenna and Makk before we went into the zoo.

Thanks GiGi for taking us to the zoo! We had a blast. Makk loooves her pink monkey!!

Smiles Sweeter than Sugar!

Here are some of my favorite smile pics from the past couple of months. She loves to put her tongue out a lot! She has been so much fun! She is growing and changing every day. Some of her favorite foods are: black beans, blueberries, peaches, mandarin oranges, Gerber fruit snacks, yogurt melts, Gerber puffs such as cheese puffs and zesty tomato, Mum-Mums, pasta with or without sauce, peas, corn, sunflower seeds, ketchup, and many other things. She also really loves Chic-fil-e. I'll get her a single chicken strip meal with fruit instead of fries, and she'll eat the entire thing!

She says many words such as mama, dada, bye, hi, yeah (all the time! She says yeah when she wants something), night night, bath (ba), Elmo (sometimes it is mo-mo), and almost book, dog, GiGi. She has also mastered the art of fit-throwing! She's pretty good at being dramatic. Yesterday when we picked her up from the church nursery, she saw us, walked half-way, and stopped at a rocking chair, putting her head down on the seat and crying. One of the ladies had to carry her the rest of the way! It was the funniest thing how she was too sad to make it the rest of the way! It broke my heart, but Brady and I could barely contain our giggles at the pathetic and dramatic scene!

She has learned to brush her teeth by herself, jump (but her feet aren't coming off the floor yet), climb, run, close every door, gets my cell phone and says hi as she holds it up to her ear, put buckles together like on a shopping cart seat (in fact, she gets mad if you put her in and buckle it for her. She has to do it herself!), waves, gives high-fives, tries to eat with a spoon, and so much more. Everyday I am so amazed just watching her! Just a year ago she was learning how to smile and laugh. She was just a baby lump, and now she is her own person who acts very independent and has to do everything herself! She is truly a joy!

A New Grad!

Makenna graduated from Waterbaby 1 swim class!! Here are some pics of her skills! By the end she was to go under water for 5 seconds, which seems like an eternity! Also, she was jumping off the side of the pool, which means she was sitting there and falling into my arms! She slid down the slide and even figured out to close her eyes! We sang a lot of songs and practiced blowing bubbles. The first week she kept opening her mouth wide open when she went under water. During the 2nd week, she learned to close her mouth and spit water out of it when she came up. She looooves the water! We made a couple of friends and had the best experience. I really enjoyed our instructor, the facility itself, how it was indoors, and the salt water pools were kept at 90 degrees!
