Rollin' Rollin' Rollin' Keep that Baby Goin'

Makenna went another 6 hours last night. Woo-hoo! I always put her to bed the same way: swaddled very tightly, on her back, lying vertically in her crib. Well, as I entered this morning, I found my advanced baby girl lying completely horizontally, out of her blanket, on her side. She rotated a complete 90 degrees and was several inches from the blanket! I had to wake Brady up to see her. I just wished I had taken a picture of it! Next time I will for sure! I guess I better start cleaning my floors more and baby proof some stuff. At this rate, she could crawl in 1 month, and walk in 2 months since she is so advanced and all! I will try and get some pics today and post them. Ta-Ta for now!

Shots, Shopping, and Stools ( many stools!)

Makenna turned 2 months old today. Whoooo how time flies! I always heard that, but now I truly understand! We went to the doctor. We have the best pediatrician ever! I have to give a shout out to Dr. Nash. You rock! :) Makenna was an even 10 pounds, which puts her in the 40%. Before, she was in the 10%. She is 22 1/4 in long, which puts her in the 50%. Unfortunately, she had to get 3 shots. It was horrible! I think it was almost worse for me. I felt so helpless. She was in pain and nothing I did helped her. She also made many doodles. One was so bad it was EVERYWHERE! Welcome to being a Mommy, right? I think it has something to do with the rectal thermometer. But she is all better now.

As I posted yeasterday, I got Brady a grill for Father's Day/ So we have decided to beautify the back porch. I went to look at some pots today. After 4 stores, I think I found what I want at Home Depot. They are fun bright colors. I also found a super cheap glider at Garden Ridge that I wanted to buy, along with a cushion that matches our curtains. Perfect! I will have to wait until Saturday to do anything so Brady can help. It's a little hard to carry out pots, a bench glider, and a baby carrier. It sure would be a neat trick! Maybe if I was super mom on steroids....Anywho, I'm excited about our project and first cookout this weekend. We are inviting our friends, the Dodsons. But they don't know it yet because they are out of town on a family vaca. It'll be fun!

I posted pictures yesterday of some family. Here are some more pics of Makenna with other family members.

Here is Meme (her great grandma), me, Makenna, Grandmommy (my mom), and Auntie D (my sister Deidra). Makenna looks super happy!

Here is Makenna with her Nana and Popsie (my other mom and my dad).

Here she is with Auntie D again.

Here is Uncle James.

Here is Aunt Kristen.

Here is her great Aunt Janet. She was always like a big sister to me growing up.

First Father's Day Weekend

Makenna's newest outfit! I found it at Finishing Touch in WF. I just couldn't resist! There is a matching flower headband, but it is too big.

Well, we had a blast this weekend. It was another busy one with lots of events. I've decided we are done for a while! Before I forget, here is the link to all the pics taken by DeEdra. There are so many wonderful ones!! And some not so hot ones of me. Yikes! I need a better haircut, or I need to learn to fix it better! http://www.pictage.com/670411
It began Friday with our trip to Lowe's. A neighbor helped me to pick up a grill, bring it home, and set it up. So that when Brady got home after work Friday, he would see it on the back porch. I just couldn't wait until Sunday. I've never been very good about keeping these kind of secrets! Here is Brady and Makenna with her gift to him.

Later that night, we went to eat dinner at Chili's. Makenna was fabulous. For the first 15 minutes or so, she just stared at Brady, smiling at him. That was probably the best present. Then she slept the rest of the night. So we were able to also go get some super yummy icecream for BR. Then Saturday, we went to Mansfield for a relaxing day. The girls hung out by the pool, and the men went golfing. Then we cooked out burgers and chicken burgers. Makenna went swimming for real!

Here she is wiped out after lots of playing and crying.

After her little nap, she needed a diaper change. She was having a lot of fun being naked!

Here is Makenna with her Father's Day picture that includes her daddy (Brady), her Pops (Scott), and her Papaw (Joe). A 4 generation pic with 3 Collier men.

Here is Makenna with just her daddy and Pops.

Sunday we made it to church. It was Makenna's first time and she did very well. She slept all the way through Sunday School and Big Church for the most part. She even slept through lunch afterwards! For the past 2 weeks she has been sleeping in her crib at night up to 5 and even 6 hours...until Saturday night. She decided to wake up at 3:30, and again last night. She woke up at 2:30. I have to say I am a little discouraged. I thought we were making big progress, and now we have to nights in a row where she is off schedule. I'm praying it gets better this week! She has her 2 month doctor's apt tomorrow morning, and she will have to get her shots. Yikes! Hopefully it goes well!!

Weekend Woes and Wonders

We had a fabulous weekend in WF this weekend. Lots of excitement. First, we enjoyed a cookout at the Kennedy's for Sam and Matt's birthday celebration. When Andrea came in to see Makenna for the first time, it sounded just like Makenna said "hi!" Three of us heard it...so it has to be true! This is one smart, advanced little girl. I know that all moms say that, but in my case, it is actually true! Then Saturday we went to our friend's house, The Bailey's, to take a birthday present to their 2-yr-old son, Collin, who is also Makenna's future husband. We totally have an arranged marriage! Here they are!

Then that afternoon, we went to the Cable's to continue the birthday celebration. Makenna had her first swim! She had an initial shock as seen here.

But once she got accustomed to the temperature, she didn't mind it. We had her decked out in her bathing suit, cover, sunscreen, and all we needed were her sunglasses which we left at home.

Isn't this an adorible family pic? Too bad Makenna isn't looking.

That night, we went to another birthday bash for Grandad who turned 76, and our cousin Heather...but I won't tell her age because I don't want to upset her. But she is young and beautiful and not 35! Makenna had a fabulous time getting held and being loved on. Afterwards, we headed back to the Cables to swim. This time I brought my bathing suit so I can get in the pool with Makenna. And wouldn't you know it, it begins lightening and raining. So then we head back over to my in-laws to beat the storm. It starts to get intense and the lights flicker. I mentioned flashlights and candles because I am anal like that. All of a sudden, the satellite goes out, then all power. Thank goodness for the candles! So now we are stuck with no tv or internet to track the weather. Furniture is being blown over outside. So Karen, Makenna and I head to the storm closet "just in case"...again, my analness coming out. So we're in the closet, no batteries for the clock radio. There is a portable tv, but it is analogue, not digital, which was turned off the day before. Then the men find a battery radio. But by this time, their camped out on the bed, asleep, and the females are in the closet, not being protected! When we left the next afternoon. there was still no power. I think they finally got it back Sunday night at midnight. And because there was no power, we had no electricity to get ready for church. That is my weekend woe. It would have been Makenna's first time to church. Overall, it was fun! Can't wait until next weekend with our first Father's Day celebration!

Busy Times

This weekend Makenna had pictures done. They are so precious! Her GiGi has had these planned for months! Here is the link to see them. http://fotobydeedra.xanga.com/704038172/sleeping-babies/. Also this weekend we went to the Collier family reunion. Makenna was a big hit! Last night Makenna slept in her crib for the first time. She slept 4 hours!! Baby steps (no pun intended)! It has been a very busy last few days. I went to work this week and had to leave Makenna at home with GiGi. It was very hard, but she was in good hands. Aunt Meo came to visit. She took some precious pics. Her blog is http://amandafouts.blogspot.com/.

New Tricks

Sorry it has been a while since I posted anything. We have been very busy with trips out of town, birthday parties, trips to school, and lunch dates with Daddy. Brady has a new work and school schedule that keeps him away more during the week. He was at home on Wednesdays for the summer, but isn'y any more, so Makenna and I began a weekly Wednesday lunch date with Daddy. This past Wednesday we picked up 5 Guys Burgers and Fries and it was yummy! Of course Makenna got lots of attention from the customers...more men than women! I hope this doesn't mean that there may be a boy problem later we will have to deal with! Brady already said she can't date until she is 35.

Makenna wore her first bathing suit last weekend at Kevin's birthday party. This is such an adorable bathing suit that her GiGi got for her! She didn't actually get in the pool. We just dressed the part!

Makenna has learned some new tricks in the past couple of weeks. She has been smiling a lot, almost giggling, and cooing vowel-consonant combinations. Brady is already chanting da-da at her, therefore I have to compete with momma! I'm with her a lot more hours, and I am the source of her food, so I better win! JK. She has also started rolling to one side. This is a very busy girl who sleeps with one eye open so she doesn't miss out. I would not be surprised if she started walking tomorrow just so she could go everywhere there is action! Here are some of her smiling pictures.

Here she is asleep on Daddy. Daddy was out like a lightbulb, too! I love my family!!
